ILLIAD FAQ

What is ILLiad?
ILLiad is a web-based ILL service that allows patrons to place Interlibrary Loan requests at any time, keep track of them, place renewal requests online and even receive articles electronically. It is designed to decrease the time it takes to receive items and improve communication between ILL staff and patrons.
How do I get an ILLiad account?
First time patrons log in with their 907 number and last name, fill in your personal information, and that will activate the account. Patrons can change their password at that point, and update contact information such as the email address at their convenience.
Do I have to use an ILLiad account to get ILL items?
Yes. Lane Library no longer accepts requests by paper or the old online form.
How will I know when my items arrive?
You will receive an email notifying you when your articles have been delivered to your account, or when your books are ready to be picked up. Please make sure the email address ill@armstrong.edu is on your whitelist/approved list so you can get the messages.
Is ILLiad the same as GIL Express?
No, they are two different things. GIL Express helps patrons get books from other University System of Georgia libraries. ILLiad is part of Interlibrary Loan, which helps patrons get books and copies of journal articles from libraries all over the United States.
Who do I talk to if I have a question?
Patrons can contact the ILL department at 912-344-3125, by email at ill@armstrong.edu or in person from 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday. Ask for Melissa Jackson or Barbara Brown.
