What types of materials may be placed on Reserve?

Any book owned by Lane Library, as well as any privately owned book, may be placed on Reserve in the Library. Additionally, photocopies of articles and chapters from books may be placed on Reserve. Instructors are also welcome to place items such as class notes and syllabi, sample tests, homework solutions, etc. on Reserve. Materials obtained via Interlibrary Loan may not be placed on Reserve.

Professors are encouraged to place current text books on Reserve for their courses.

Electronic Reserves

How do I place materials on Electronic Reserve (ERES)?

Materials to be placed on ERES may be submitted electronically via e-mail to Kathryn Wineland or Harriet Winiger, or one-sided paper copies may be brought to the Reserve Desk in the Library to be scanned.

Instructors will be asked to provide a password for student access to ERes course materials. Passwords should be unique to each course and should be changed each semester.

Copyright rules stipulate that Electronic Reserve systems may only include short items (such as an article from a journal, a chapter from a book or conference proceedings, or a poem from a collected work) or excerpts from longer items.

In addition to the information above, an overview of Library policies can be found in the AASU Faculty Handbook. Thank you.
